Two years after announcing the TWS Pi5 and Pi7 earphones, Bowers & Wilkins have announced new versions.

Here's What We Know

The earbuds have been released with the prefix S2 in the name. The B&W Pi7 S2 provide 24bit/48kHz audio streaming with support for the aptX Adaptive codec and boast adaptive ANC. The B&W Pi5 S2s support the conventional aptX codec and standard ANC. Both models feature 9.2mm dynamic drivers, enhanced Bluetooth with a range of up to 25 metres and a battery life of up to five hours. The B&W Pi5 S2 charging case will extend battery life to 21 hours and the B&W Pi7 S2 to 24 hours.

Both cases support wireless charging, although the Pi7 S2 has the added benefit of Wireless Audio Retransmission. It allows you to connect the case via cable to an external audio source. To an aircraft's in-flight entertainment system, for example, and then transmit the sound to the earphones wirelessly.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The B&W Pi5 S2 and B&W Pi7 S2 are already available on the manufacturer's official website. The older model costs $299/€299/£249 and the new one costs $399/€399/£349.
