Motorola reveals Rizr Rollable concept smartphone with retractable display at MWC 2023

On day zero of MWC 2023, which is currently taking place in Barcelona, Motorola has unveiled an interesting new product - the Rizr Rollable foldable smartphone.

It's not the usual "clamshell" that Motorola already has - it's a smartphone with a retractable display. Part of the screen wraps around the underside of the case and pulls out when needed, increasing the size of the screen. In some ways, it's reminiscent of the old 2006 Motorola Razr Z3, which had a keypad hidden under the sliding case.

According to journalists who have already had a chance to test the new Rizr, it has a 5-inch 15:9 aspect ratio POLED display and when unfolded, it turns into a 6.5-inch 22:9 aspect ratio screen. The interface adapts to the size of the display.

The screen unfolds and expands whenever the user presses the power button twice.

But so far it's just a concept. Whether Motorola will put such a smartphone on sale is unknown. But at least from journalists, it has already received positive reviews.
