NVIDIA has unveiled a new Ada Lovelace generation graphics card. The new card is called the GeForce RTX 4070 and is the performance equivalent of the RTX 3080.

Here's What We Know

The graphics card has got AD104 GPU chip in AD104-250-A1 variant. The GPU is manufactured by TSMC using 5nm technology. This processor has 35.8 billion transistors. Power consumption is as high as 200W.

GPU frequency ranges from 1.92 GHz (base) to 2.475 GHz (Boost), and memory frequency is 1313 MHz (21 GB/s effective). The chip is connected to 12GB of GDDR6X video memory via a 192-bit bus. Maximum throughput is 504.2 GB/s.

The GPU gets 5,888 CUDA cores and 46 ray tracing cores. The company also claims 64 rasterization blocks, 184 tensor cores and the same number of texture blocks.

The GeForce RTX 4070 is designed for 1440p gaming at maximum image quality settings. Like other next-gen models, RTX 4070 gets support for DLSS 3 framerate generation technology.

The non-DLSS reference graphics card outperforms the RTX 3070 in Full HD games by 22%. The advantage over RTX 3070 Ti drops to 17% and over RTX 3080 only 2%. But in 4K, it's down 5% over RTX 3080. DLSS 3 boosts performance by 30%.

Price & When We Can Expect It

GeForce RTX 4070 will start selling tomorrow, April 13. The manufacturer's recommended price of the graphics card is $599. The novelty will appear on the market with 8- and 16-contract (12+4 / 12VHPWR) power connectors.
