MediaTek unveils Dimensity 9200+: an overclocked version of its flagship mobile chip Dimensity 9200
MediaTek, as promised, held an event to unveil its new Dimensity 9200+ mobile processor.
Here's What We Know
As you can understand from the name, the new product is an improved version of the flagship Dimensity 9200 chip.
The SoC is also built on TSMC's second-generation 4nm processor and has the same cores. But they boast of increased clock speeds: Cortex-X3 from 3.05GHz to 3.35GHz, Cortex A715 from 2.85GHz to 3GHz and Cortex A510 from 1.8GHz to 2GHz. MediaTek has also improved the graphics accelerator by 17%. Otherwise, the novelty is no different from the base model.
The SoC gets a 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7 support, LPDDR5x memory, UFS 4.0, as well as the proprietary Hyper Engine 6.0 game graphics enhancement technology and support for screens up to WQHD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 144Hz.
When We Can Expect It
The first smartphone based on the Dimensity 9200+ processor will hit the market at the end of this month.
