Fairbuds XL - modular headphones with ANC for €249 that you can repair yourself
Fairphone has introduced the Fairbuds XL headphones. The novelty, like the company's smartphones, is characterised by a modular design and high repairability.
Here's What We Know
If the Fairphone Fairbuds XL breaks down, the user can repair the accessory themselves. If any component fails, a new one can be purchased from the company's official website.
In terms of specifications, the headphones have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with a transparency mode so that the user can hear ambient sounds in the street. The model is equipped with a 40mm dynamic driver and six microphones.
The battery capacity is 800mAh. That's enough time to work without recharging for up to 320 hours in standby mode. You can listen to music for 26 hours with ANC and 30 hours with noise cancellation switched off.
A Bluetooth 5.1 wireless adapter is provided to pair the Fairphone Fairbuds XL with smartphones. If desired, the headphones can be wired via USB-C-Mini-Jack, but you'll have to buy the cable separately. It costs €13.
Another feature is the compact joystick for control. The Fairphone Fairbuds XL also get an ANC activation/deactivation button and IP54 splash protection.
