Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 4 Gen 2: 4nm processor for budget smartphones
Qualcomm has unexpectedly announced a new processor for budget smartphones.
Here's What We Know
The novelty was called Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. The chip is the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. It is built on 4-nanometer process technology and boasts two new 2.2GHz performance cores. The chip also gets six 2.0GHz power-efficient cores. Qualcomm claims that the overall performance of the SoC has increased by 10%.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 boasts support for FHD+ screens at 120Hz, as well as LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, cameras up to 108MP and Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology. The processor comes with an integrated X61 5G modem, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. Unfortunately, there is no information on the graphics of the new product yet.
When We Can Expect It
The first devices based on SoC Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 will appear in the second half of 2023.
