MediaTek unveils Dimensity 6100+: Processor for low-cost 5G devices
MediaTek recently announced the Dimensity 6020 and Dimensity 6080 processors, and has now released another chip in the range.
Here's What We Know
The novelty has been named MediaTek Dimensity 6100+. The chip gets eight cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.95GHz, as well as Mali-G77 MC9 graphics. According to the manufacturer, the novelty supports a single camera up to 200 MP or three sensors of 64 MP each. The Dimensity 6100+-based devices will also boast FHD+ displays up to 144Hz or QHD+ displays up to 90Hz, LPDDR5 RAM up to 16GB and UFS 3.1 storage up to 1TB. The processor has a 5G modem as well as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and NFC modules. The novelty also gets HyperEngine 5.0's proprietary technology, which optimises performance in gaming.
When We Can Expect It
The first devices based on MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ will appear in the fourth quarter of this year. The chip will be installed in lower- and mid-range smartphones.
