Xiaomi has announced a $1800 CyberDog 2 robotic dog that can do backflips
Xiaomi has unveiled the CyberDog 2 robotic dog for $1800. The second-generation model was about $400 more expensive than the original robot, which was announced in 2021.
Here's What We Know
CyberDog 2 looks like a dog of the Doberman breed. It weighs 8.9kg and stands 36.7cm tall. The company says that the robot is equipped with Xiaomi's proprietary CyberGear actuators to provide a high level of manoeuvrability.
The robot can do continuous backflips and can stand on its own on its feet in case of a fall. The walking speed of CyberDog 2 is no more than 1.6 metres per second. The developers have installed 19 sensors in the device, including LiDAR, endowing it with hearing, vision and touch.
CyberDog 2 is equipped with an RGB camera and an interactive camera with a resolution of 1 MP and 13 MP respectively. The latter has got support for artificial intelligence algorithms. The robot also has a lens with a 146-degree viewing angle. The NX Processor and a couple of additional chips provide a total performance of 21 TOPS.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Xiaomi has already started selling the CyberDog 2 in China. The next-generation robotic dog has been priced at nearly $1800.
