Fairphone 5: a smartphone builder with a five-year warranty and support for up to 10 years for €699

Fairphone has announced its new smartphone builder - Fairphone 5.

The smartphone received a collapsible body. The device comes with Philips screwdrivers for self-repair. In the novelty you can replace almost any part. By the way, the phone is made of 70% environmentally friendly and recycled materials. In addition, the gadget boasts a five-year warranty and support for up to 10 years (5 major OS updates and 10 years of security patches). Out of the box, the Fairphone 5 runs Android 13 operating system.

In terms of specs, the novelty has a 6.46-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1224×2700p resolution and 880 nits peak brightness. The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass 5 glass. The smartphone also has a 50 MP (IMX800) + 50 MP (IMX858) main camera, a front camera with the same resolution, a 4200 mAh battery with 30W charging, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-SIM, IP55 protection, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E and side scanner. The gadget is powered by a Qualcomm QCM6490 processor. This is an improved version of the Snapdragon 778G chip.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Fairphone 5 is already available for pre-order in Europe for €699/£619. The novelty is available in three colours: Matte Black, Sky Blue and Transparent Edition.
