HomePod 17: AirPlay support for Siri and new call controls

Apple has released a new version of software for HomePod and HomePod mini smart speakers.

Here's What We Know

The system came out with the name HomePod 17. Improved Siri capabilities were added to the firmware. Now you can use the voice assistant to switch on music via AirPlay from iPhone or iPad based on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. There are also new call controls in the system. They allow you to switch the call sound on your HomePod on or off. In addition, the software includes improved voice algorithms (only for 2nd generation HomePods) during conversations when paired with Apple TV 4K.
