Samsung announced the Galaxy SmartTag 2: an object tracker with IP67 protection, up to 700 days battery life and UWB support for $29
Samsung, without much fuss, has announced the successor to the Galaxy SmartTag.
Here's What We Know
The novelty was called Galaxy SmartTag 2. The model received an updated appearance, as well as a plastic case with a metal ring. The gadget comes with IP67 water resistance, Bluetooth and UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) support. The tracker also has a new Lost Mode feature. The owner of the tag can enter their contact information and if the device is lost, the finder can scan it using NFC. Your contact information will automatically appear on the screen.
There's also a Compass View mode. It facilitates the search for lost things, as it shows the exact direction to the tracker. Unfortunately, this feature will only work with Android smartphones that support UWB. For example, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. In terms of battery life, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 will last up to 500 days on the built-in battery. If you activate the new Power Saving Mode, however, the battery life will increase to 700 days.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Samsung SmartTag 2 will be available on the global market on 11 October. The novelty will cost $29.
