Mode 1 RETRO II: a retro-style "clamshell" with modern features
Japanese manufacturer P-UP World has unveiled the Mode 1 RETRO II, an interesting smartphone that combines retro design with modern features.
Details
The Mode 1 RETRO II is designed in a "clamshell" shape and looks like phones that were popular in the 2000s. It features a 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and the usual physical keyboard.
However, unlike the old "clamshells", this is a full-fledged smartphone. It runs the Android 13 operating system, supports all Google services and even has lateral fingerprint recognition.
In addition, the novelty received a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory expandable via SD-card, 48 MP main camera, 13 MP frontal and a 2500 mAh battery.
The smartphone is available in Sheep White and Wolf Black colours and is priced at $200. Sales in Japan will start on 20 October, nothing is known about the global market launch.
