Apple has launched Tap to Pay for iPhone in France: what it is and how it works
Apple continues to expand the geography of the Tap to Pay service. Now it is available in France.
Here's What We Know
The corresponding information appeared on the Apple website. The service allows merchants to use their iPhones as point-of-sale terminals. Tap to Pay supports Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards and other digital wallets. All you need to do to successfully make a payment is to bring another gadget or bank card to that smartphone.
The Tap to Pay service can be used by customers of the BPCE group of banks (Banques Populaires, Caisses d'Epargne and Payplug), as well as Adyen, myPOS, Revolut, SumUp, Viva Wallet and Worldline. BNP Paribas, Crédit Coopératif, Market Pay, Stancer and Stripe will join the list a little later. To use the service, you need to have an iPhone XS or a newer model.
By the way, France has become the eighth country where Tap to Pay service has been launched. It is also available in the US, UK, Australia, Netherlands, Brazil, Ukraine and Taiwan.
