Sony has announced a 50 MP Lytia LYT-900 sensor, Xiaomi 14 Ultra and OPPO Find X7 Pro will get it
Sony has announced a new flagship camera sensor for mobile phones.
Here's What We Know
The novelty has been named Lytia LYT-900. It is a one-inch sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels and the size of individual pixels 1.6 microns. The size of the sensor is 16.384 mm (diagonal).
The LYT-900 has received stacked CMOS technology. That is, the sensor has two separate layers - one for the transistor and one for the photodiode. This allows for physically larger diodes, which in turn capture more light.
Unfortunately, other specifications of the sensor have not yet been revealed by the manufacturer. Sony also didn't say when the first devices with the Lytia LYT-900 on board will be released, but if rumours are to be believed, it will be the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and OPPO Find X7 Pro flagships. They will be revealed in the first half of 2024.
