The startup Minimal Company has presented an interesting novelty Minimal Phone. It is a so-called anti-smartphone, which is designed to fight addiction to gadgets and social networks.

Details

The fact is that the developers have reduced the entertainment content to a minimum. Only some applications necessary for life are supported: for calling a taxi, navigation, etc. For example, YouTube is absent here, but there is YouTube Music for listening to music and programmes for reading e-books.

Although users will still have the option to install a smarter version of the operating system MnmlOS (powered by Android) with support for Google Play and other applications.

The smartphone features an E-Ink display that mimics regular paper and is mostly used in e-books, a QWERTY keyboard and a 4000 mAh battery. It provides up to 4 days of battery life and fully charges in 1 hour.

The Minimal Phone is not for sale yet and is being finalised. Perhaps some features will change. But its creators promise users at least 5 years of software support.

In early February, the anti-smartphone will appear on a crowdfunding platform to raise funds at a price of about $ 400. The project will require about 3,000 pre-orders.
