Xiaomi has announced a new, compact, 120W GaN USB-C charger
Xiaomi has unveiled a new 120W GaN USB-C GaN charger for the Chinese market, dubbed Little Pudding. This charger features a compact design and fast charging.
Here's What We Know
The Little Pudding, as Xiaomi has named it, has a white, rounded design that the company claims is 42% smaller than traditional 120W GaN chargers. This is achieved by using GaN, a third-generation semiconductor material known for its excellent thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance and small size.
Xiaomi's new charger has broad compatibility with PD 3.0, QC 3.0 and UFCS 1.0 protocols, allowing it to intelligently recognise and efficiently charge a variety of devices including tablets, laptops and wearable devices. The charger will be able to provide up to 65W of fast charging for laptops.
The company has bothered about the safety and reliability of Little Pudding, so the charger has a fireproof and heat-resistant housing, intelligent temperature control and multiple protection mechanisms against overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating and short circuit.
The charger comes with a 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable. The device has dimensions of 34 mm x 34 mm x 53 mm and works in the temperature range from -10 ° C to 40 ° C. The novelty is priced at 199 yuan (approximately $28) and is already available for purchase in China on JD.com.
