NIU Kick Scooter: electric scooter with a range of up to 50 km, maximum speed of 32 km / h and a price of $ 599

The Chinese company  NIU, which specializes in the production of electric motorbikes, unveiled its first electric scooter today.

What is known

The new product is named NIU Kick Scooter. The scooter received two versions: Pro and Sport. In the US, the Pro version will accelerate to 32 km / h and the Sport to 28 km / h. In Europe, due to local laws. Both models will drive with maximum 25 km / h speed. As for the range, it is 50 km and 40 km, respectively.

Other models differ in transmission. The NIU Kick Scooter Pro has a 350 W motor and a 486 W lithium-ion battery. For the NIU Kick Scooter Sport, these figures are lower: 300W for the motor and 365W for the battery. The rest of the models are similar. They have foldable housings, IP54 protection, braking recuperation, dual disc brakes, taillights and headlights, a mechanical bell, and Bluetooth connectivity to a smartphone.

Price and when to expect

The NIU Kick Scooter will go on sale in the US and Europe in June. Depending on the region, the new product will cost from $ 599 / € 599.
