DJI Action 2: Tiny modular action camera with magnetic mounts and OLED display for $400
DJI introduced its first action camera back in 2019, but since then has spent more time on drones. Now the DJI Action 2 has finally debuted, which is very different from the original in terms of appearance and principle of operation.
What we know
It's a miniature square-shaped camera that measures 39×39×22.3 mm, and weighs - only 56 g. The body is made of aluminum alloy, there is protection against water. The camera can be submerged to a depth of 10 meters, and with a underwater box - to a depth of to 60 meters. The model features a 1.76-inch OLED touchscreen display with resolution of 446×424 pixels and brightness of 500 nits.
The camera gets a 1/1.7-inch sensor with resolution of 12 and ultra-wide lens 155 with f/2.8 aperture. It can record 4K video at 120 fps or Full HD 204 fps, it also claims RockSteady 2.0 electronic stabilization, working in conjunction with HorizonSteady's horizon leveling system.
There's a 580 mAh battery inside that provides 70 minutes of battery life. But it can be increased, as can "pump" camera capabilities. The thing is the DJI Action 2 has magnetic mounts, with which can be used to attach additional modules and accessories. For example, a battery that will increase battery life to 180 minutes, an additional screen to make it easier to shoot blogs, a macro lens , etc. Also with magnets the camera can be attached to car hood.
