A dedicated channel for Formula 1 has appeared in the Apple TV app. The company is increasing its focus on motorsport after signing a five-year agreement to broadcast races in the US and the success of a feature film about F1 in theaters.

What is known

The new section already includes placeholders for live broadcasts of practices, qualifications, and grands prix, as well as a separate pre-race weekend show. The season will start next month in Australia, so the channel is basically preparing for a full launch with the first championship stages.

In the "Event Schedule: Sky Sports" section, it is indicated that Apple will likely broadcast the international feed with Sky Sports commentary, without its own studio or commentators. A similar model was previously used by ESPN during the previous F1 rights in the US.

In addition to future broadcasts, Apple TV already offers highlights of the 2025 season and an overview of regulatory changes for 2026. Some races will be shown free of charge, but full access is offered through the F1 TV Premium package within the Apple TV subscription. It provides access to all season stages, as well as additional content — pilot onboard cameras and team communications in real-time.
