The Russians claim to have turned the newest Su-34NVO fighter into a strategic missile carrier with long-range cruise missiles
Russian propagandists have reported that the Su-34 fighter-bomber can now allegedly carry long-range cruise missiles. No confirmation has been provided.
Here's What We Know
According to the information that has emerged, the Russians were able to arm the most modern version of the Su-34 with long-range cruise missiles. It is called the Su-34NVO. The type is not specified, but probably we are talking about strategic missiles Kh-101, Kh-55 or Kh-555. Usually, Tu-160 and Tu-95MS strategic bombers are used for launches.
Such statements by Russian propaganda should be treated with caution. A few weeks ago, it was reported that the Su-34 was able to use for the first time pseudo-hypersonic missile Kh-47M2. A day later it turned out that it was the first launch of a 1500kg FAB-1500 M54 bomb.
About the fact that the Su-34NVO became a carrier of long-range cruise missiles wrote the Russian edition of RIA Novosti. It is state-controlled and publishes information solely in the interests of the Russian authorities.
