Poland will test the ability of F-16 Fighting Falcon, MiG-29 and Su-22 fighters to take off from the track
A military exercise will take place in Poland next week. As part of the event, F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets will take off from the track.
Here's What We Know
During the Cold War, Poland had several airfields on the roads. After the collapse of the USSR, maintenance of the infrastructure stopped, but now the authorities of the European country are investing in its restoration.
On September 18, a 3km stretch of Route 604 in northeastern Poland was blocked. During the exercise, called ROUTE 604, fourth-generation fighter jets will practice taking off from the motorway. Su-22, MiG-29, C-130, C-295, M28 and M-346 aircraft will also take part in the event.
Not only pilots, but also aeronautical engineers along with the Territorial Defence Force and military police will perform their tasks. Exercise ROUTE 604 is an important component of the Polish Army's training system. The aim is to improve command and individual abilities.
