Another military aircraft has crashed on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Su-34, which is considered a fighter-bomber of the 4++ generation, crashed in the Voronezh region.

The accident occurred on September 20, 2023. The fact of the crash of the fighter-bomber was officially confirmed by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The pilots were able to eject and survived. The cause of the crash is not specified.

The Su-34 is a front supersonic fighter-bomber designed to strike enemy positions at a depth of up to 600 kilometres. The cost of the aircraft, depending on the modification, can reach $50 million.

The fighter can reach speeds of up to Mach 1.8 (1900 km/h) and has a maximum combat radius of over 1100 km. The maximum combat payload ranges from 4,000kg to 8,000kg depending on fuel capacity.

For several days, the Russians have been writing that the Su-34 was able to use the Kh-47M2 pseudo-hypersonic missile, the FAB-1500 M54 guided bomb and a long-range strategic cruise missile for the first time. So far, nothing because of this has been confirmed with photos and videos.
