$380m contract: Spain orders 8 Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters from Lockheed Martin to replace Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King helicopters

Spain has signed a contract with US company Lockheed Martin for the purchase of Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters.

The information was shared by the manufacturer. We are talking about 8 aircraft. The contract is worth $830 million. Deliveries of helicopters will last until 2027. By the way, the Spanish Navy already uses 20 Seahawk helicopters with the S-70 index. As for the additional batch, it will replace 18 old Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King helicopters.

The Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk is one of many versions of the SH-60 helicopter. It can carry Mk 54 torpedoes and AMG-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles. The helicopter is powered by two General Electric T700-GE-401C engines, each rated at 1,410 kW. The Seahawk has a maximum speed of 270 km/h and a range of 830 kilometres.
