The Hamas attack on Israel has forced the US to move large forces into the region. These included the iconic A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft known as the Warthog.

Here's What We Know

The US Air Force deployed a group of attack aircraft assigned to the 354th Fighter Squadron to the Middle East. The aircraft were stationed in Arizona at the Davis-Monthan base.

The US Department of Defence is in no hurry to reveal where the A-10 Thunderbolt II has arrived. Officials limited themselves to saying that the aircraft will join other A-10s that were already in the region. The planes are from the 75th Fighter Squadron.

The purpose of this operation is to deter Hezbollah from trying to escalate the conflict. In addition, the US wants to show Israel its support during this difficult time. Earlier, the Pentagon sent two aircraft carriers to the region, as well as fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jets.
