F-15E Strike Eagle fighters have arrived in the Middle East following the A-10 Thunderbolt II amid an attack on Israel by Hamas militants
US fourth-generation F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets have landed in the Middle East. This comes after A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft arrived in the region.
Here's What We Know
Modernised fighter jet systems and improved guidance capabilities allow US forces to better respond to any contingency or crisis and engage when necessary. The Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) said in a statement.
The F-15E Strike Eagle arrived in the Middle East from the UK just a day after the A-10 Thunderbolt II. As with the attack aircraft, the US Air Force has not disclosed the exact location of the fourth-generation fighters.
It is also worth noting that US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Israel last week. Upon his return to the US, he ordered the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
This comes after the Pentagon moved the USS Gerald R. Ford to the Eastern Mediterranean. The world's largest aircraft carrier carries four squadrons of F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets.
