In June this year, Croatia transferred 14 Mi-8 helicopters to the Ukrainian armed forces as part of military aid. As it turned out, these were all helicopters of this type in service with the Croatian army.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin at a joint briefing with his Croatian counterpart. We are talking about helicopters modified Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-8T. Some of the helicopters flew to Ukraine on their own, while others were brought by land transport. By the way, Croatia gave Ukraine the Mi-8 for a reason. In return, the Croatian army will receive additional Black Hawk helicopters from the United States.
