The Spanish Navy has received its first Airbus H135 light helicopter under a $195m contract
Airbus has handed over the first H135 light helicopter to the Spanish Navy. Spain has ordered a total of three dozen aircraft.

Spain ordered 36 helicopters in December 2021. The contract is for the delivery of 18 helicopters for the air force and navy. The value of these 18 aircraft was nearly $195 million.
The Spanish Navy received the first Airbus H135 six months after the debut helicopter was delivered to the Spanish Air Force. The military service wants the seven aircraft sooner so it can move on to training. Deployment is scheduled for 2024.
The Airbus H135, also known as the Eurocopter EC 135, made its first flight in the late 1980s. The European helicopter can reach speeds of more than 250 kilometres per hour and has a practical range of more than 600 kilometres.
