Denmark tells when it will transfer first F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Ukraine

Denmark in August 2023 announced the transfer of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Ukraine. Now there is information when the Ukrainian Air Force will receive the first Danish aircraft.

When We Can Expect It

According to the Danish Ministry of Defence, the first aircraft deliveries are scheduled for this summer. There is no information about how many fighters it will be, but it is known that Denmark has promised to send Ukraine 19 planes. The exact terms of deliveries will depend on the training of Ukrainian pilots and maintenance personnel. By the way, eight pilots from Ukraine are currently undergoing a training programme in Denmark.

F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multifunctional light fighter. It was developed by the American company General Dynamics. Due to its versatility and low cost, the F-16 is a success on the international market. It is in service with 24 countries. The F-16 is the most mass-produced fighter of the fourth generation. As of 2009, more than 4,400 have been built and more than 2,500 were in service in 2016.
