Researchers have named the most environmentally friendly cryptocurrency in the world

Crypto Carbon Rating Institute specialists named the cryptocurrency that has the least impact on the ecology of our planet.

It turned out to be Polkadot. This is a fairly well-known cryptocurrency. It fell out of the top ten projects in terms of market capitalization, which is almost $22.6 million. The coin itself is now trading at around $22.

The Crypto Carbon Rating Institute analyzed the energy consumption and carbon footprint of several protocols that run on the Proof-of-Stake algorithm. As it turned out, the Polkadot blockchain protocol leaves the smallest carbon footprint in the atmosphere.

At the same time, the Solana platform uses the least amount of energy to complete a transaction. In terms of energy consumption per data network node, Cardano is the leader. Note that projects on Proof-of-Stake consume about 100,000 times less energy than the Bitcoin network on the Proof-of-Work algorithm.
