Google introduces cryptocurrency payment for cloud services

Google will allow its users to pay for cloud services with cryptocurrency. For this purpose, the company has already chosen Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange.

Google announced the partnership with Coinbase at the Google Cloud Next conference. According to the deal, Coinbase will use Google's cloud infrastructure, and that, in turn, will allow customers to choose cryptocurrency as a means of payment. But all details of the deal have not been disclosed yet.

The service will be launched in early 2023, but only from some users through integration with Coinbase Commerce service. Coinbase will receive a percentage of the transactions that go through it. Over time, the number of users who can pay with digital currencies is planned to expand.

Coinbase Commerce supports 10 currencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Litecoin.

Google is also considering using Coinbase Prime, a service for organizations to securely store and transact cryptocurrency.
