Hackers stole more than $760 million in cryptocurrency in a month - only $100 million was recovered
In October, hackers enriched themselves by more than $657 million, and the total losses since the beginning of the year reached $3 billion.

PeckSheild Alert analysts estimated that hackers were able to steal $760.2 million in cryptocurrency during the second month of fall. The total loss was $657.2 million, as more than $100 million was recovered.
A total of 44 cryptocurrency hacks were recorded in October. The largest is the BNB Chain hack. The attacker gained access to $544 million, but only managed to withdraw $100 million because the developers responded relatively quickly to the hack. Now he has $432 million at his address, but no way to withdraw the funds.
Hackers have managed to steal $3 billion in cryptocurrency since the beginning of the year. That's twice as much as for all of 2021. The safest month was July, when about $10 million was stolen, while March was the leader. In the first month of spring, hackers stole more than $700 million.
