DPRK hackers steal at least $630m in cryptocurrency during the year
North Korean hackers have enriched themselves by several hundred million dollars by successfully stealing cryptocurrency during the year 2022. The total amount stolen varies from source to source, but in any case, it is a record.
Here's What We Know
According to a United Nations report, North Korean cyber crooks stole more cryptocurrency during the past year than in any previous year. This is reported by Reuters news agency and the official report will be published later this month.
South Korean experts claim that hackers from the neighbouring country stole $630 million in cryptocurrency. An unnamed cybersecurity firm says the attackers have stolen more than $1bn. It is possible that this is due to the change in the cryptocurrency exchange rate during 2022.
