A miner with relatively weak equipment was able to mine a block of Bitcoin by himself. This was reported by pool administrator Ckpool.

Here's What We Know

The Bitcoin network has a hash rate of over 367 EH/s and the capacity of the miner's equipment is 750 TH/s. To understand, 1 EH/s equals 1 million TH/s. Thus, the probability of mining a Bitcoin block was estimated to be 1 in 489,333.

The miner mined block number 790,958 and received a reward of 6.25 BTC, i.e. approximately $170,000. Of this amount he has to pay more than $10,000 in transaction fees ($6700) and Ckpool services ($3400).
