Indian conglomerate Tata Group will build Micron's $2.75bn semiconductor plant in India
Micron intends to set up a memory chip testing and packaging plant in India. Indian industrial conglomerate Tata Group will assist in the construction of the enterprise.

Tata Projects will build the plant in Sanand, Gujarat. If everything goes according to plan, the chip testing and packaging factory will be launched at the end of 2024. The Indian company has a good reputation which helped it win the bid.
The construction of the factory will be done in accordance with environmental standards. The plant will follow water conservation principles. It will also exclude the release of waste in liquid form.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $2.75 billion. However, the American company Micron will invest only $825 million. Almost $2 billion will be invested from the budgets of the country and the state.
