It's official: Sony will unveil Xperia 1 V at launch on 11 May

Sony has announced the launch date for its new top-of-the-range Xperia smartphone.

The novelty will be called Xperia 1 V (reads as Xperia 1 Mark 5). According to the manufacturer's official invitation, the smartphone will be unveiled at an event on May 11. That is, in a fortnight time.

According to leaks, the Xperia 1 V will look almost the same as the current model. The gadget will get a body with dimensions of 161.0×69.3×8.5 mm, a 6.5-inch display with no holes or notches, a 12 MP + 48 MP + 12 MP main camera, a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 16 GB RAM and a 5000 mAh battery. The novelty will cost over $1000.
