Insider: Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 foldable smartphones get IP58 protection

Ahead of the unveiling of Samsung's new foldable smartphones, details of the devices continue to emerge online.

This time, an insider under the nickname @chunvn8888 has revealed that the Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 will boast IP58 protection. Unfortunately, it's not IP68, which most flagship smartphones on the market offer. Nevertheless, IP58 would be the best protection in this class of device. The number 5 in the rating denotes protection against dust and 8 against water and moisture.

Incidentally, the Galaxy Fold 5 will look almost indistinguishable from the current model. As for the Galaxy Flip 5, it will boast of a larger external display. The new products will also get a new top-of-the-line Qualcomm chip and improved cameras.
