+20%: Samsung may significantly increase the price of the Galaxy Flip 5 clamshell
At the end of July, Samsung will hold its traditional summer presentation, during which it will unveil new foldable smartphones. We've already seen renders of Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5, and now the Galaxy Flip 5 pricing has been reported from Greece.
Here's What It Costs
According to these reports, the foldable smartphone will cost €1,299 in Europe for the 8/128GB version. Of course, prices may vary from country to country, but don't expect these fluctuations to exceed €30-40.
If this information is confirmed, the Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 will be significantly more expensive than its predecessor - by almost 20%. By comparison, the Galaxy Flip 4 in the same configuration with 8/128GB of storage cost €1,099 in Europe at launch, which is €200 less.
The increased price seems to be due to innovations such as a larger external screen and virtually no gap between the halves of the flexible screen when folded.
Incidentally, the other day an insider revealed the price of another foldable smartphone - the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5. According to his information, it will be even cheaper than its predecessor - $1,699 instead of $1,799.
