This time, insider and dataminer @Za_Raczke has studied the Android 14 code and found mention of a desktop mode, which will allow the smartphone to output a picture to an external monitor via a USB-C port.

Thanks to this, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be able to connect a mouse and keyboard and use the devices like a PC. For example, to work with documents, watch videos, etc.

Incidentally, the idea of turning a smartphone into a computer is not new. Samsung has added a similar feature (DeX) to its flagship and mid-budget devices since 2017. In addition, some Motorola smartphones have the same mode (Ready For).
