Google has been manufacturing Tensor processors for Pixel devices in partnership with Samsung for several years. It has now been reported that the company wants to follow in Apple's footsteps and design its own SoCs entirely.
Here's What We Know
This has been revealed by a former Google executive. The chip goes by the code name Redondo. Development of the processor is engaged entirely in Google, but to produce new products plan to capacities of the Taiwanese company TSMC.
It is rumored that Tensor G5 will be built on 3 nanometer process. Moreover, this chip will get Integrated Fan-Out technology, which will allow to reduce the thickness and increase the energy efficiency of the processor.
