AirPods and AirPods Max will also switch to USB-C, but next year
Apple is gradually switching its gadgets from the company's Lightning port to the universal USB-C port. At the presentation on 12 September, the company is expected to present smartphones iPhone 15 and wireless headphones AirPods Pro, which will be the first in their categories to receive a USB-C port. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the company's other headphones will follow suit.
Here's What We Know
Mark predicts that the regular AirPods and AirPods Max will ditch the company's signature Lightning connector as early as next year.
The updated AirPods Pro, which will debut next week, looks to be a near clone of the previous model. The most significant update will be the replacement of Lightning with USB-C on the charging case. And more major updates are expected from the other models, as the 3rd generation AirPods are almost 2 years old and the AirPods Max have been around even longer.
