Apple will release a watchOS update that fixes Apple Watch's fast-discharge issue
Recently we wrote about the fact that after the update to watchOS 10.1 many Apple Watch owners started complaining about the fast discharge of the smart watch. Now it turns out that Apple is aware of this problem and is preparing a solution.
Here's What We Know
In an internal memo provided to Apple's authorised service providers, the company said that it is preparing an update that will fix the problem. This update is "coming soon," but Apple doesn't specify a specific timeline. It could be watchOS 10.1.1 firmware, but it's possible that the fix won't arrive until watchOS 10.2, which is currently in beta testing and is expected to be released in December.
Incidentally, the iOS 17.1 release notes say that this update fixed an issue that could cause increased power consumption when an Apple Watch running watchOS 10.1 is paired with an iPhone running iOS 17. But apparently, the Apple Watch battery drain issue has not been fully resolved.
The problem affects different watch models, from the older Apple Watch Series 5 to the latest Apple Watch Ultra 2.
