Here's What We Know

OLED screens are already installed in Apple Watch and iPhone smartphones (except iPhone SE). But more such gadgets will soon follow.

According to the report, next year two iPad Pro models with OLED screens will debut, and in 2026 - iPad Air and iPad mini, the display diagonal of which will increase from 8.3 to 8.7 inches. In 2027, Apple will introduce the technology in the 12.9-inch iPad Air model.

The company will likely use a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) OLED panel for the iPad Pro and a single-layer low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) panel for the iPad mini and iPad Air. And in 2027, Apple will add a next-generation iPad Pro panel with improved light output thanks to colour filtering when encapsulated (CoE), which is claimed to reduce power consumption by around 20%.

Apple is also expected to introduce OLED in the 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2025, followed by the 14-inch model in 2026. The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models will also switch from LCD to OLED in 2026.
