NVIDIA is preparing to discontinue the GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card with 8GB of video memory. It will be replaced by a model with 6 GB VRAM.

Here's What We Know

The updated graphics card together with 2 GB of RAM reduced by 2 GB will get a cut-down graphics chip. The presentation of the new version of GeForce RTX 3050 will take place early next year, and its price will be up to $200.

The model will be based on GA107-325-Kx. The graphics chip will get 2048 CUDA cores, which is 20% less compared to the modification equipped with 8 GB VRAM. GPU frequency will be reduced by 17% and will be 1470 MHz. The memory bus bit rate will also decrease - from 128 to 96 bits.

The original Ampere generation graphics card was unveiled almost two years ago at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. Its official recommended price at the start of sales was $249.
