Here's What We Know
The US chipmaker is working on processors with model numbers SM7675 and SM8650. They are expected to be called Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, respectively. Both chips will be available next year.
As you can understand from the names, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will be the successor to the popular Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor. It is a stripped-down variant of the flagship SoC of the generation before last, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, on the other hand, will be a simplified version of the current generation flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The processor was unveiled about two months ago and made its debut in the Xiaomi 14 smartphones.
