Android 15 will notify you when it's time to change your phone battery (like iPhone 15).
Android is getting more and more updates that allow users to get more information about their phone's status. One of such updates is the possibility to receive information about the current capacity of the phone battery and to know whether the battery has been replaced. The new update of Android 14 will allow users to check the status of their battery. Using APIs, which were added in Android 14, the user can check the date of manufacture of the battery and its cyclicity.
Need to Replace the Battery
Batteries gradually lose their capacity with the time of use. This means that the phone will be more quickly discharged and less likely to hold a charge. Viznachit, when you need to replace the battery, can be difficult. Some add-ons can give an approximate estimate, but it will take a long period of time to collect enough data.
New Android 15 Features
Android 15 will have more features that will allow users to know more about their battery. The new "Battery Health" page will show the current capacity of the battery and provide tips on how to replace the battery.
The "Battery Health" page will display:
- date of first use;
- charging policy;
- health status (capacity drawdown in relation to the estimated capacity);
- tips for replacing the battery.
Android 15 will also support reading the status of parts and serial number of the battery. This may be useful for manufacturers to recognise the originality of the battery.
