Apple introduced the updated iPhone SE in 2020, and the next model came out in 2022. However, you should not expect a new version this year.

Here's What We Know

A new report from The Elec says that the next iPhone SE will debut in 2025. But it will have a nice innovation - OLED display. All previous iPhone SE models have been equipped with LCD panels, but now, finally, the cheapest iPhone will take a step forward.

According to a report, Apple has 3 contenders to produce OLED screens for the smartphone. Samsung is offering panels for $30, BOE is offering panels for $35, and Tianma is offering panels for $40. No one has been awarded this contract yet, as Apple wants to lower the price to $20.

The displays will likely be similar to those used in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14: a 6.1-inch panel with a resolution of 1170×2532 and a peak brightness of 1200 nits.

Samsung has all the advantages so far. Firstly, the company offers the lowest price. Secondly, it was the one that produced the panels for the iPhone 14. In turn, BOE lost a good opportunity to increase its OLED panel production capacity last year when it encountered difficulties in producing panels for the iPhone 15.
