Malaysian sets new record for paper airplane flight and enters Guinness Book of Records

Malaysian engineer Julian Chee made a paper airplane that set a new world record for range and made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Chee spent months developing the perfect design concept for the paper airplane. The engineer paid maximum attention to the balance between weight and wing area. He had the help of his friends Shin Moo Joon and Kim Kyu Dae in designing the airplane. The former folded the paper into the airplane as he was experienced in origami, and the latter was in charge of launching it.

At that time, the current record belonged to Americans John Collins and Joe Ayoub. Their airplane flew a distance of 69.14 m. Chi and his friends were able to launch their aircraft at almost 77.14 m. The new record holder is smaller in size but has more layers in the wing. Due to this the plane began to glide at a higher altitude.
