BYD has revealed the Yangwang U9: an electric sports car with 1,300 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds and $250,000 price.
BYD has announced the production version of the Yangwang U9 sports car.
Here's What We Know
The car is built on the proprietary e4 platform, which includes four independent electric motors. The total power of the novelty is 1,300 hp (1,680 Nm of torque). Yangwang U9 also boasts the DiSus-X system, which is responsible for adjusting the suspension. With its help, the car is able to "walk like a crab" like a Hummer EV, perform a U-turn on the spot and even drive on three wheels.
According to the company, the car can reach a top speed of 309 km/h and accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds. BYD claims that through rigorous testing, the company has managed to create an advanced thermal management system. It ensures optimal performance of the car even in challenging conditions. The Yangwang U9 also supports 500kW charging. The claimed range is 467 kilometres (on the CLTC cycle).
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Yangwang U9 is already available for purchase in China. The electric sports car costs $250,000.
