The Russians are sending the strategic nuclear submarine Generalissimo Suvorov to the Pacific Ocean. The missile cruiser will be transferred to the place of permanent deployment.

Russian media, citing a source close to the defence ministry, write that the strategic nuclear-powered missile submarine cruiser is leaving the Northern Fleet. The submarine is going to Kamchatka, where it will be deployed as part of the Pacific Fleet. The route will take about two weeks.

The submarine has a displacement of 24,000 tonnes and can dive to a depth of 480 metres. The cruiser is capable of carrying out missions lasting up to three months. Its speed underwater is approximately 50 kilometres per hour.

The nuclear submarine is armed with RPK-6M torpedo missiles and torpedoes of 533 mm calibre. The main weapon is the R-30 Bulava ballistic missiles. They have a maximum launch range of 9,300 kilometres and can carry nuclear warheads. The power of the charge is more than 100 kilotons.
