The US sent the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Raegan with the destroyer USS Shoup, missile cruisers USS Robert Smalls and USS Antietam to the Republic of Korea
Another US aircraft carrier visited the Republic of Korea. This time the US Navy sent there the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).
Here's What We Know
The aircraft carrier strike group led by USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) visited the Pusan base on 12 October 2023. The ship was last in the country last autumn. At the same time, the last U.S. aircraft carrier to visit the Republic of Korea was USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
In addition to USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the aircraft carrier group includes two missile cruisers, USS Antietam (CG 54) and USS Robert Smalls (CG 62). They are also kept company by guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86).
The press release said the U.S. sailors will get a chance to strengthen relations with the South Korean people ashore. The U.S. Navy has also planned events to celebrate the military service's 248th birthday.
And while the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) is visiting the Republic of Korea, the US Department of Defence has sent two aircraft carriers to the Eastern Mediterranean at once. USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) is already in the region and will soon be joined by USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
